Brown sugar can easily get hard when exposed to air. To solve this
problem and avoid sending it to trash, put it in an air tight container
or Tupperware, on to put a piece of bread and close the lid tight.
It would be soft by the next day!

Thanks for sharing that tip. I’ve heard this will work too.: Put the brown sugar in a bowl, sprinkle a tiny bit of water on it, cover it, and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so.
